How Business Beware Works?
It's pretty simple. If you have a difficult customer that you think others should know about and be aware of then you can file a complaint against them to warn fellow businesses. You then can search your area for complaints that have been filed against certain customers. Customers do have the ability to file a rebuttal. The complaint will be displayed and if there is a rebuttal then it will be below it.
If you want to know more about our collection letter and how to get one sent out to a customer click here.
Food for thought: Collections agencies usually charge between 20-30% when you collect money from your customer.
How Do I Join?
You need to register with us and fill out all the information required while also reading over and accepting the terms of use. The membership fee is a one time fee of $5.00. Also, just so you know Business Beware is like a reverse Better Business Bureau. We do allow the customer to file a rebuttal against the complaint that was filed against them in the first place. Our goal is yes to warn other businesses but to also to possibly work out the situation between you and the customer. More info on rebuttals click here.
What about if I am customer and I want to read the complaint that was filed against me?
Well in the very, very near future we will have it where when we contact you about a complaint that has been filed about you, we will send you a confirmation #. That number will let you see the complaint that was filed but to be able to file a rebuttal you would have to register of course. BUT for right now, you would need to register to search if there has been a complaint filed against you. New stuff coming soon!
Tired of trying to collect from those customers who don't pay?
Before you get ready to sign a contract with a customer or before you complete a job for them you should check up on them to see if they have caused problems for other fellow businesses in your area too. If you are a business and the problem you have is with another business, you can post against them as well. ALSO if you need to use a collection agency to help you collect your money from a customer STOP and try us first! We have a collection letter we can send out for you and if you do get your money from the customer, we don't charge you any percentage! OR even mention it to the customer that there is a site you can put problem/non-paying customers on and see what their reaction is... Their leverage is the BBB and yours is Business Beware. Seriously! For more information on how to send a collection letter check out our collection letter page.
Filing a complaint against a problem customer...
If there is a customer that you just have to warn others about in your area then we say go for it! Customers do not need to get away with taking advantage of businesses, it's just not right. Okay, all you need to do is register with us (just a $5.00 fee) and get a username/password. Once you register you have the ability to search through complaints filed in your area and you can go file that complaint about the customer that is turning causing your hair to raise on your neck. Just simply fill out the information about the customer and once you submit it, it will be available for other members to see. Of course we check the posts so make sure it follow our terms and conditions, because if it doesn't it will get axed by the DELETE button. So keep it clean and professional! To see what a typical filed complaint looks like see below!

| Filed Complaint Against Customer: | We completed remodeling renovations to a his house which was four weeks ago and he has yet to pay us. He also said that he would not pay us for the extra overtime hours we put in, even though we had to because he changed his mind with the original contract. |
*Remember this is a fake complaint, there is no John Doe at this address nor is the address real...
Rebuttal: When and if a customer files a rebuttal, it will be placed below the complaint and look like this:
Rebuttal Filed by: John Doe
Filed Rebuttal: I did not think that I should pay for the overtime hours because it was not in the original contract. However, I will send in my payment because I know that this business worked hard and did a great job. (now some or rebuttals would not be like this, but wouldn't it be awesome if they were??)
*John Doe is not a real customer nor did he file a rebuttal...
