What is Business Beware™?

Business Beware™ gives business owners a voice just as consumers have Angie's List, the BBB, etc. We help busiensses collect from no-pay customers and warn each other about problematic customers.

For more information go to How it Works

How do I use Business Beware™?

  • Send a "beware letter": If you have a customer you don't necessarily want to file a complaint against but just want collect money from then you can send them our "beware letter" that lets the customer know that you just want to collect the money you're owed.
  • Searching the database/Filing a complaint: It’s simple.  Before you take on a job you can pre-qualify your customers to see if they have caused problems for fellow businesses before.  So you can decide if you want to do business with that customer based on what was said about them.

What's included in the membership?

You have access to search all complaints that have been filed. You can file as many complaints as you want and are able to send out "beware letters" to customers you need to collect money from. Depending on what membership you choose allows you to send the # of beware letters in your membership (and you can always get more).

Does Business Beware™ edit the report I post?

No. We do not edit any of the reports. We check every post that is made to make sure each member follows our terms and conditions.

The only reason we would take the post down is:
1. We find that the post is offensive or vulgar.
2. BOTH parties work out their situation and want the post taken down.
3. The member decides to take it down.

What is the Privacy Policy?

We respect your privacy and take responsibility of protecting the personal information that you share with us very seriously. We do not publish any information submitted here to the public or third parties.

For more information about our terms and conditions click here.

Do you have to be a member to file complaints on Business Beware™?

Yes. Before you can search or file a complaint you have to register with Business Beware™ and become a member.

Do I have to be a business to use Business Beware™?

Yes. When you sign up you will be asked to fill in your business and contact information. This site is not for just anyone to rant and rave about someone that made them angry. If you fill out the information incorrectly or we find it to be false in any way, your registration information will be deleted.

If I send a "beware letter" out to my customer do you follow up with them or make sure they received it?

No. We do not follow up with the customer because we are not a collection agency. We will however let you know if the customer contacted us via email or by letter.

Do you send a copy of the complaints or beware letters that I file on your site to me by email or mail?

No. But if you would like a copy of the letter/complaint than we can send you one by email in pdf format.

I received a "beware letter," does this mean a complaint has been filed against me?

No. The "beware letter" simply states that the business owner wants to collect their overdue payment but will consider placing you on the site if you choose to ignore it.

I do not want my name posted on here and I don't think it's fair to post against customers.

It is very fair. Customers need to be held to the same standard as businesses have been held to all of these years. You as the customer can rate businesses and give feedback about them via 100 networks on the web. Also remember, this is ultimately between you and the business owner.
