“I had tried getting some of my customers to pay for quite some time but never could get a response.  I didn’t want to use a collection agency because it takes so long to get in touch with anyone and they collect so much that it’s just not worth it.  When a friend told me about Business Beware’s collection letter service I had to check it out and thought I would give it a try.  They sent the letter out to the customer and 5 days letter I received a check in the mail from my customer!  I could not believe it and I will never use another collection agency again thanks to Business Beware.  This is a superhero for business owners everywhere.”  -Nancy Whitmore from Cleveland, OH

“I wasn’t sure when I first heard about this but I thought why not give it a shot?  I had tried for 6 months to collect from a customer that would not pay for our landscaping we did to her house and owed us $2589.  The letter was sent out to her and about a week later there was a check in our mailbox from her.  I could not believe it!  This is such an awesome thing that business owners need to take advantage of right now and save yourself the headaches with agencies.”
-Bill Peterson from Charleston, SC

Need to collect from a customer who owes your business money but don't want to file a complaint just yet?

We offer a service we call the "beware letter" that is like a "pre-warning" letter. This let's the customer know who we are and that you as the business owner have an outlet where you can place customers who have become a problem. We let them know that you just want to collect your money that is owed to you and work out this situation. But if they choose not to you are considering placing them on the site as a "no-pay" customer. Please note: we are NOT a collections agency. This letter is just a way to get the communication started between you and the customer and hopefully where you can collect your money without having to resort to a collection service. If your customer does respond to the letter and pays you, you don't owe us a penny. Once again, we are NOT a collections agency.

The "BEWARE letter" (yes, it's that scary)

How did the letter come about?

After starting Business Beware we noticed that more than half of the complaints people were filing were about a customer not paying them for work they completed. So immediately we wanted to help so we came up with the "beware letter" concept. It's simple but it works and after testing it with our own businesses and 95% of them sent in their checks we knew it was something we needed to offer.

Why would a customer respond to the letter?

Well think of it this way, would you want to be placed on a website for others to know that you have a long running list of people you don't pay? Maybe you would who knows but most don't so they contact the business and say "hey, here's your money I owe you from a few months ago..."

How do I sign up to use the "beware letter?"

Here's how the process goes:

  1. Sign up and register for a membership
  2. Log in and select "send beware letter."
  3. Fill out all information about where the letter is to be sent, invoice # etc.
  4. Once submitted we will contact you and let you know that we received the info.
  5. Letter sent to customer

Yes, it's that easy. Once the letter is sent out we let you know if the customer contacts us and if they contact you then you just let us know.

If I send a "beware letter" out to my customer do you follow up with them or make sure they received it?

No. We do not follow up with the customer because we are NOT a collection agency. We will however let you know if the customer contacted us via email or by letter.

Do you send a copy of the complaints or beware letters that I file on your site to me by email or mail?

No. If you want a copy of it we can send you one by email in pdf format but we don't automatically send you a copy of every complaint/beware letter you file.

Can this be used B2B?

Absolutely. Believe it or not we actually have a lot of businesses needing collect from other businesses or distributors.

P.S. you can see a sample of the letter we send out once you are a member of the site

It's simply that simple. Don't wait a long time to try and collect from customers, stay on top of it and get it done. Did we mention our service is so simple?

We hope that this will help you and your business work out the issue you have with the customer and of course to help collect your money. Many of our members have used this and it has worked, so if you are at the end of your rope let us help you! We look forward to making your day a little less hectic! We have had a 96% turn around with this where the customer pays you once they receive the letter. See sample letter (you can't see the letter unless you are a registered member).

**Also note that we are not a "collection agency" we are merely a way to help you resolve an issue between you and the customer. Make sure to read our terms of use as well.
